Freeborn Avenue & Pillsbury Avenue Reconstruction Project Updates – Job 2201
November 10, 2022 – Due to the onset of freezing temperatures, the landscaping contractor will be delaying sod installation until the spring. They placed a temporary seed mixture on disturbed areas to prevent erosion this week instead. All work is now completed until the spring except for a few cleanup and punch list items.
November 4, 2022 – The boulevard grading has been completed and the sod placement will begin either today or early next week.
October 28, 2022 – The landscaping subcontractor is working on getting the disturbed areas graded and prepped for sod. They plan to place the sod next week. After that all work will be completed until the final lift of asphalt is placed next spring.
October 6, 2022: This week the contractor excavated and installed the aggregate base on Pillsbury Ave. The concrete crew began installing the curb & gutter on both streets today and should finish tomorrow. Once the concrete has cured properly they will be able to place the first of two lifts of asphalt.
September 30, 2022 – The underground utility work on Pillsbury Ave was completed this week. Next week the contractor will excavate for and install the new aggregate base
September 23, 2022 – This week the contractor began replacing the sanitary sewer and watermain replacement on Pillsbury Avenue. All the underground utility work should be completed by the end of next week. This will be followed by excavating and installing the new aggregate base.
September 15, 2022 – The contractor is currently placing the aggregate base on Freeborn Avenue with completion expected this weekend. The existing pavement, curb & gutter and sidewalk were removed along Pillsbury Avenue along with the preparation of the temporary water supply. Next week they will begin replacing the sanitary sewer and watermain along Pillsbury Avenue.
September 9, 2022 – The contractor began excavating for and installing the aggregate base on Freeborn Avenue and should finish this next week. Other work planned for next week includes setting up the temporary water supply on Pillsbury Avenue, removal of the existing pavement and curb & gutter on Pillsbury Avenue, and begin sanitary sewer replacement on Pillsbury Avenue.
September 1, 2022 – Work this week included completion of the sanitary sewer, storm sewer, watermain, and service replacements on Freeborn Avenue. Next week they will begin excavating for and installing the new aggregate base.
