Vactor 2100

This Truck is one of the most important parts of utilities Dept. it is like a giant pressure washer with a vacuum attached.  The truck is capable of pumping water to the tune of 80 gpm at 2500 psi to clean pipe and vacuum up anything you throw at it here is a list below of operations that it does and assists with.

• Cleans and maintains the sewer system
• Thaws ice in storm and sewer lines
• Dead wild animal clean up
• Cleans catch basins and storm inlets
• Helps with fixing water main breaks

• The Vactor is also used at the Waste Water Treatment Plant

Generators

The City of Albert Lea Utilities has four portable generators and two stationary generators the portable generators are located at the garage for deployment when needed and the stationary generators are located, one at the south water plant on Margaretha and one at the main lift station at 102 James St.
