Albert Lea Police Department investigating apparent fall from building
At approximately 6:16 a.m. today, April 7, officers from the Albert Lea Police Department (ALPD) responded to a report of an individual found at the base of a building at 800 Fourth Avenue South.
Upon arrival, officers located a 54-year-old male who appeared to have fallen from an upper-story window. Emergency medical personnel responded to the scene, but the individual was pronounced deceased.
Albert Lea Fire Rescue and Mayo Ambulance assisted at the scene.
At this time, no signs of foul play are suspected, and there is no ongoing threat to public safety. However, the incident remains an active investigation as officers work to determine the cause and circumstances surrounding the fall.
The identity of the victim is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The police department asks that anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant information to contact the ALPD at 507-377-5200.
