ALPD releases more information on death investigation

On April 7, 2025, at approximately 6:16 a.m., officers from the Albert Lea Police Department (ALPD) responded to a report of an individual found at the base of a building at 800 Fourth Ave. South.

Upon arrival, officers located a male lying on the ground. Medical attention was provided to the male, but he was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. The individual has been identified as Todd Earl Goskeson, 54, of Albert Lea.

Based on the initial investigation, there is no indication of foul play and the circumstances surrounding Goskeson’s death are consistent with apparent suicide. This remains an active investigation and no further details will be released at this time out of respect for the family.

Albert Lea Fire Rescue and Mayo Ambulance provided assistance at the scene.

There is no ongoing threat to public safety.
