2022 State Aid Street Overlay Project Updates – Job 2202
August 19, 2022 – The bituminous overlay was placed on both Hammer Road and E. Richway Drive this week. The aggregate shoulder on Hammer Road wasa also placed. The paint striping for both streets is scheduled for today, weather permitting. After that all work will be complete except for minor cleanup and punch list items.
August 12, 2022 – The contractor began the milling process yesterday, and they do anticipate finishing in one day on both Hammer Road and E. Richway Drive. They will then begin cleaning and preparing the surface for paving which should happen early next week.
August 5, 2022 – The contractor completed the culvert replacement on Hammer Road and has patched the road. Hammer Road has been reopened to traffic. They plan to begin milling both East Richway Drive and Hammer Road late next week. This would be followed shortly with placement of the bituminous overlay.
July 29, 2022 – On Thursday July 28th Ulland Bros began replacing the first of three culverts on Hammer Road. The roadway is closed until the three culverts are replaced.
July 22, 2022 – The contractor plans to begin the centerline culvert replacements next week. Hammer Road will be closed to through traffic beginning Thursday, July 25th between YH Hanson Avenue and CSAH 45 (Sorensen Rd). Local traffic will have access but will need to come from either the east or the west depending on which culvert is being worked on. The closure is expected to last 2 to 3 weeks.
July 15, 2022 – Ulland Bros began removing sections of settled or damaged curb & gutter on Richway Drive and Happy Trails Lane. Replacement is scheduled for early next week.
July 8, 2022 – A preconstruction meeting was held this week to discuss this project. There is a small amount of curb & gutter that has to be replaced as part of this project that will begin toward the end of next week and should only take a few days to complete. The next step will be the replacement of three centerline culverts on Hammer Road which is tentatively scheduled to take place the week of July 25-29.
